Drawing class for beginners at Rehoboth Art League to begin March 3

February 17, 2018

Learning to draw is easy once one learns to see as Leonardo Da Vinci did. A Drawing from Realism to Abstraction class at the Rehoboth Art League will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Saturdays, March 3 to April 14.

The interesting and fun drawing exercises introduced in class will enable students to reawaken the creative hemisphere of their brains and learn how to draw realistically. Instructor and local artist Donna Iarusso will teach crosshatching, perspective, light and shadow, and composition. Students will begin by learning to draw realistically but will end with an exploration of abstraction through the use of line, gesture and color. The cost of this six-week class is $200 for members and $235 for nonmembers.

Iarusso was a painter and muralist for over 35 years. She was also a member of the continuing education faculty at Queensborough Community College in New York where she taught drawing classes. To register, go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call  302-227-8408, Ext. 112. All classes are held at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.
