The Edwards Christmas Village & Craft Show, a longtime Cape Region holiday attraction, will open to the public at 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, with a musical concert by local a capella singing group Mixed Blessings. The Edwards Christmas Village is a collection of over 375 miniature houses, with animations, custom-built buildings and scenery. It has been more than 25 years in the making. Christmas Village hours will continue from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1-2 and 8-9, and 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3.

The Edwards family provides refreshments including hot dogs, coffee, hot cocoa, Russian Tea, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. The event is totally free to attendees. It is their way of giving back to the community. Donations of nonperishable food items, toiletries and good-condition warm clothing will be accepted to support Jusst Sooup Ministry. Guests may bring cameras to take photos with Santa.

New this year is more village space including an iconic portion of Rehoboth Beach complete with beach area. There will be a hay-sleigh ride from the parking area to the village, and three live concerts. In addition to the opening event with Mixed Blessings, there will be a concert featuring Conley’s United Methodist Church Choir at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, and Girl Scout Troop 35 sharing sounds of the season at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8.

The Edwards Christmas Village is located at 18179 Robinsonville Road, Lewes, off Plantation Road. Parking will be available at the intersection of Robinsonville Road and Plantation Road, with a hay-sleigh ride to the village. Handicap parking is at the main house.
