Edwards Christmas Village a success

January 19, 2018

Edwards Christmas Village would like to thank the members of our community for their attendance at this year's annual event.

Even though we had to be closed on the second Saturday, we collected many canned goods, clothing and needed funds for Jusst Sooup ministries. Everyone had a great time celebrating the season together.

We would also like to thank the Freeman Brothers for use of their property to park cars; Walmart for assistance with supplies; and Billie Lynn Thompson, whose field we crossed to make it safer for hayrides.

We also had concerts by Mixed Blessings, Conley's Church Choir and Girl Scout Troop 35.

Many volunteers deserve a round of applause for their efforts.

They cooked the food, helped with cleanup, attended the car parking, drove the tractors, handed out cookies, and various other tasks needed to operate the village.

Special thanks go to our son Robert Godwin and daughter Susan Kapochus, who spent many hours and personal funds to make this event happen.

We are excited to begin planing for 2018. We plan to focus this year on remembering the reason for the season.

We are working on some special displays to incorporate this theme.
