Eichner named new Cape girls’ lax coach

Replaces PJ Kesmodel as head of eight-time state champion Vikings

Lindsey Eichner has been named the head coach of girls’ lacrosse at Cape, replacing P.J. Kesmodel, who retired on his 72nd birthday in May, the same night he led Cape to its eighth consecutive state championship.

Eichner is a 2009 graduate of Wesley College, where she obtained a master’s in teaching. She is teaching physical education at Milton Elementary. 

The former Washington College player served as an assistant to Lynn Richardson at Polytech in 2011-2015. Last season, she was a Cape assistant and also an age-group head coach in the Eastern Shore Lacrosse Association. Prior to that, Lindsey was the head coach of the Wesley women’s lacrosse team from 2007 to 2009. 

Lindsey was team captain at Washington College in 2005. She ended her college career with 106 goals and 136 assists. In short, Lindsey was a player.
