Elizabeth ‘Bettye’ L. DaSilva, devoted to family

Elizabeth (Bettye) L. DaSilva, 88, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes. She was born Friday, March 1, 1929, in Chattanooga, Tenn., daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Buchannan) Trew.

Mrs. DaSilva worked for years at St. James Hospital in Newark, N.J. She married the love of her life, Francisco DaSilva, in Baltimore, Md., July 9, 1947. She enjoyed gardening and cherished time spent with her dear family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. DaSilva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco DaSilva; and her son Edward DaSilva. She is survived by her daughter, Linda and her husband Ron; her grandson, Jeff; her granddaughter, Karen and her husband Mike; and her five great-grandsons.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m., at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave., Bloomfield, N.J. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. DaSilva's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 108 North Bedford St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
