Entertainment lineup announced for Delaware State Fair

The Delaware State Fair announces its entertainment lineup for 2017. It includes 15 of the hottest music artists around, two wheeled events, a comedian, a rodeo and the traditional harness racing at the fair.

The Delaware State Fair Kick-off Concert will feature throwback country music singer Jon Pardi with Chris Lane at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 19. Pardi, known for his working-man spirit and traditional style of country music, will be the perfect kick-off to the 10-day fair in Harrington. Gate admission will not be required, but no fair basics will be in place including carnival rides, livestock animals and circus performances. Limited food vendors will be open. Tickets are $31-66.

Delaware State Fair General Manager Bill DiMondi said, “We hope fans will return to enjoy Jon Pardi’s kick-off concert performance here in Harrington as they prepare for Thursday’s start of the 98th Delaware State Fair.”

The Painted Pony PRCA Rodeo  is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, July 20. The best cowboys and cowgirls will show off their roping, riding and racing. Tickets are $10.

The Monster Truck Meltdown presented by Delaware Volunteer Firefighter’s Association is set for 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 21. The show will include nationally recognized monster trucks, a ride truck and a tough truck challenge. Along with the event there will be a pit party where fans can come meet the drivers, take a picture with the trucks and more. Pit party tickets will be made available closer to fair date.

The Craft Beer Festival is set for Saturday, July 22. Bands will include Foghat, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Pure Prairie League, Pat Travers Band and Rare Earth. The Craft Beer Tasting will feature over 50 varieties of beer for Craft Beer Ticket holders to choose from. Music-only tickets are $35. Craft beer tickets are $45. Craft beer ticket holders must be 21 years and older, and  will receive access to the concert, a souvenir cup and five beer-tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets will be $2 each. Gates open and beer tasting will begin at 6 p.m., the show will start at 6:30 p.m., and last call will be at 8:15 p.m.  A fireworks display presented by M&T Bank will begin at approximately 9 p.m.

Darius Rucker will perform at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 23. Rucker is sure to bring some of the best country music for all to remember. Tickets are $44-84.

Stand-up comedian Gabriel Iglesias, also known as Fluffy, will perform at 8 p.m., Monday, July 24. Tickets are $32-42. 

Superstar trio Rascal Flatts headlines the grandstand at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 25. Tickets are $54-89.

Christian chart-topping artist Crowder takes to the stage with Big Daddy Weave at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 26. Tickets are $25-50. 

Harness racing is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, July 27. There is no charge to attend. Thursday is also Governor’s Day at the fair.

The place to see car-smashing fun will be the Demolition Derby presented by Manlove Auto Parts at 7 p.m., Friday. July 28. Tickets are $17-19.  

Brantley Gilbert returns with Luke Combs to the grandstand at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 29. The two will bring their strong Southern roots to Harrington for an evening of unforgettable country music and a little Southern rock on the last night of the fair. A fireworks display presented by M&T Bank will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

A VIP package will be available for purchase for six of this year’s concerts. Featuring a VIP concert experience package, highlighted with VIP parking, gate admission, $10 food or drink voucher at the Roost, early entry into the venue, a pit or premium track seat and access to the loft VIP area with restrooms, cash bar, free water and soda, and a concert view never before seen at the M&T Bank Grandstand.
