Epworth thanks Stamp Out Hunger supporters

May 22, 2018

We want to express our appreciation to area residents who participated in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive May 12. This was the 26th year for the campaign, sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Because of the generous donations of nonperishable food items, the Food Pantry at Epworth United Methodist Church will be well-stocked for many weeks. Epworth's pantry is one of several recipients of food donations to Stamp Out Hunger in the Rehoboth Beach area. The Epworth pantry also receives food from church members and friends, and through campaigns conducted by other organizations and businesses.

Nearly 1,800 families, households or individuals were able to obtain nutritious food items at no cost through the Epworth Food Pantry in 2017. The pantry is administered through the church's Good Samaritans program.

Hunger and homelessness are a reality here, even in this resort area. The Epworth Food Pantry is one avenue for serving our neighbors in need. Thank you for supporting the drive!
