Essential oils topic at Summer Spirituality Series July 27

July 23, 2017

The St. Peter's Episcopal Church Summer Spirituality Series continues Thursday, July 27, at 7 p.m., in the Parish Hall, 211 Mulberry St, Lewes, with a presentation on enhancing spirituality through the use of essential oils by St. Peter's parishioner Mary Anne La Torre.

Throughout history, essential oils have been used for prayer, meditation and sacred ceremonies to enhance a spiritual connection and communion with God. Today people can still benefit from their use in a wide range of applications. This presentation will discuss some of these spiritual essential oils and look at various ways they can be used in daily lives to benefit health and spiritual wellbeing.

Mary Anne is an RN with a M.A. in psychiatric nursing and training in acupressure, Reiki, homeopathy, flower essence, and essential oils. For the past 30 years, she has had a private counseling practice that consolidated these approaches integrating psychotherapy with various wellness and stress management techniques. She is currently involved in teaching many of these techniques to clients both privately and in groups as well as providing treatment sessions on an individual basis.

As always, the presentation will be followed by an ice cream social, featuring King's ice cream, giving attendees the opportunity to mingle with La Torre and one another.
