Farm bureau women's committee stocks Ronald McDonald Family Room

March 14, 2017

By the third week in February, most Americans have earned enough money to pay for all the groceries a family of four will consume in one year.

Members of the Delaware Farm Bureau Women's Committee gathered Feb. 20 at Sam's Club in Dover to purchase several hundred dollars’ worth of groceries which they took to restock the pantry in the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. The room offers families of newborns in the Special Care Nursery a place to have a snack, beverage or quick meal without leaving the hospital.

The groceries they provide filled the available shelves to overflowing. Delaware Farm Bureau Women's Committee has provided this restocking annually for more than 15 years. Funds for the purchase are set aside from profits from the farm bureau food booth at the Delaware State Fair.
