Farmers market returning to 16 Mile Brewing Co. in Georgetown May 17

April 2, 2017

Beginning May 17, the 16 Mile Brewing Company will once again host a farmers market from 3 to 6 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer season. The event will be held on the grounds of the brewery and will feature a wide variety of meat and produce from local farms, flowers and handmade products, and sweet treats for Georgetown residents and visitors passing through on their way to the Delaware and Maryland beaches.

"16 Mile Farmers Market is the best place around to not only buy all your local vegetables, meats, soaps, flowers and so much more, but a place that welcomes everyone and offers a friendly atmosphere with plenty of space for the market to grow," says Laura Passwaters from LJ's Meats.

Every week Boneyard Barbeque, a fan favorite at 16 Mile, will be offering a variety of its lip-smacking barbeque sandwiches, ribs and sides. Radio station 107.7 will be promoting the event and hosting live remotes throughout the summer. Live entertainment will be featured every week, so visitors can enjoy soft music in the background while they shop.

The extensive list of vendors includes DelMarVa Popcorn & Nut Co., Evans Farms - The Frozen Farmer, LJ's Fresh Lamb, Bottoms Up Craft Designs, Pasqualini’s Bakery, Beach Scapes By Amy, Pet Wants Rehoboth Beach, Heather Scents Soap, Ada’s Picnic, Flower Garden Farm and more.

"Families are welcome to sample their purchases at the outdoor tables, while patrons 21 years of age or over may visit the 16 Mile Brewery and Tavern," says Heather Snyder. "Please remember that while we love our canine friends, we ask that dogs remain at home or safely secured in vehicles."

The farmers market will be held Wednesdays through Aug. 30 at 413 South Bedford St. Free parking is available. For weekly updates, find 16 Mile Farmers Market on Facebook.
