Ferry job fairs for seasonal employees set March 24, April 28

March 14, 2018

Cape May-Lewes Ferry officials announced that two job fairs will take place inside the Lewes terminal this spring from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturdays, March 24 and April 28. The purpose of these job fairs is to attract qualified applicants for seasonal/casual positions in various departments, including customer service, food and retail, and maintenance. During the busy summer season, the ferry hires more than 250 seasonal employees.

"The ferry is closely tied to the local communities on both sides of the bay, and we like to hire locally," said Heath Gehrke, director of ferry operations. "This event is a great opportunity for prospective candidates to speak with our hiring managers and apply onsite. Whether on land or aboard a vessel, you can't beat a summer job at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry."

Approximately 200 seasonal positions are currently available in Lewes, including food and retail associates, line and prep cooks, servers, customer service representatives, bartenders, porters, warehouse workers, and maintenance technicians. Some supervisory seasonal positions are also available.

These job fairs will be held inside the Lewes ferry terminal at 43 Henlopen Drive in Lewes. A welcome table with job postings will be set up, and qualified candidates will meet with hiring managers to be interviewed on the spot. Candidates will be able to complete applications online at the terminal and are subject to a background check. Job seekers are encouraged to submit applications and/or resumes online prior to the event.

For more information or to apply, go to www.drba.net prior to the event. The Delaware River and Bay Authority is an equal opportunity employer.
