First State Dance students accepted for summer intensive studies

First State Dance Academy Director Michele Xiques is proud to announce two students who auditioned for summer intensive dance studies have been accepted to train.

Parker Reb, 11, auditioned and was accepted to Orlando Ballet in Orlando, Fla., with a 50 percent scholarship. Reb also auditioned and was accepted to the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory in Torrington, Conn, with a scholarship for full tuition, and partial room and board. He has chosen to go to Nutmeg.

Blayke Cawby, 15, auditioned and was accepted to the Rock School for Dance Education.

Among the many successes First State continuously produces, FSDA currently has three professional dancers with First State Ballet Theatre, New York Ballet and Princess Cruise Lines, two who are training full-time at the Rock School of Dance Education and one in the Pre-Professional Program at the Kirov Academy of Ballet.
