Floral arrangements offered at Milton Farmers Market Fridays

June 30, 2016
The Milton Farmers Market just became more beautiful. Newest vendor Rainbow Farm brings flowers galore to its market tent to provide a floral cornucopia for patrons to enjoy. Rainbow Farm offers an assortment of cut stems, bouquets, and centerpieces both formal and informal, plus potted plants ready to take root in the garden.

Owner Wanda Jester sets out about a dozen tubs of colorful freshly-cut lily stems for market patrons to peruse and choose, plus small ready-made table-top and window-box arrangements, and blooming bouquets of all sizes. She also provides a particularly unique service to her customers, in creating custom bouquets and arrangements on site, with buyers selecting from the abundance of premium stems on display. The perfumed scent of the blooms spill beyond the tented canopy.

Located on the banks of the Wicomico River in Salisbury, Md., Rainbow Farm provides the ideal setting for growing woodland, meadow, and stunning lily varieties. All are grown without use of pesticides, and most of the lilies are planted in a color-drenched greenhouse. Varieties include Asiatic lilies, Orientals, and Calla lilies, each in an abundance of colors and textures. To see the diverse range of offerings, go to  www.rainbowlilies.com. Rainbow Farm brings their best of blooms to Milton Farmers Market from 3 to 6 p.m each Friday.

Additionally, this new vendor brings several heirloom native woodland shade plants, as well as potted hard-to-find meadow plants including wild ginger, hairy petunia, milkweed, liatris and more.

The Milton Farmers Market convenes in the Dogfish Head Brewery parking lot on Village Center Drive off Chestnut Street.

With over 25 sellers, the market offers everything needed for table, pantry or freezer, with the very best of fresh local produce, premium meats and poultry, wild-caught cold-water fish, pastries and baked goods, artisanal breads, low-heat pasteurized milk, freshly roasted coffee, organic teas, spirits-based gelato and more. Vendors on site offer prepared foods, sundries including personal care products, and even fresh herbs for the garden. And there’s always live music and plenty of community cheer.
