Former commissioner endorses Paul, Kathy

August 11, 2017

As a former city commissioner for six years, I have had the opportunity to work with Kathy McGuiness for five of those years. She has always been willing to look at all sides of an issue. She will spend the time to contact the principals involved in an issue to really try and understand all the factors involved so she can arrive at a thoughtful decision. She is an independent and creative thinker and she is exactly the type of commissioner we need to face the challenges that lie ahead for the city.

I have also had the opportunity to work with Paul Kuhns on the city commission and later on a nonprofit board of directors. He is also a tireless worker and has gained invaluable experience and insight in his tenure in his various endeavors. I believe that he is the right person to guide the city for the future.

All of the candidates care deeply about the City of Rehoboth Beach. But, your decision should be made based on the level of commitment and work that will be required as the city grows. Both Kathy and Paul are planners, and will not be satisfied with a reactive approach that has plagued the city in the past.

If you have not had the opportunity to talk with Kathy and Paul, you should. Call them on the phone or send them an email. Actually, it is not too late to talk to them on election day. Seek them out at the polls; they will be happy to talk to you.

Please join me in voting for both Kathy McGuiness and Paul Kuhns.

Pat Coluzzi
former city commissioner, Rehoboth Beach
