Frances R. Salin, RAL, RBHS supporter

Frances R. Salin, 103, of Whiting, N.J., passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at The Pines at Whiting. She was born Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1912, in Rehoboth Beach, the daughter of the late George A. and Rida B. Roach.

Mrs. Salin was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family, whom she loved dearly. She returned home to Rehoboth Beach in 1978 and spent the following 28 years there, after which, in 2006 she returned to New Jersey to be closer to her son. She was an avid supporter of the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society and the Rehoboth Art League, and had been a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Salin was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, John "Jack" A. Salin.

She is survived by her two sons: Charles A. and his wife Marjorie of Chatham, N.J., and John F. Salin and his wife Jacqueline of Westbrookville, N.Y.; her three grandchildren: Amy Salin Mullin and her husband Eugene of Califon, N.J., William Salin and Rachel Salin, both of Westbrookville, N.Y.; and her two great-grandchildren: Brendan and Madeline Mullin.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway Lewes, where friends may call between 10 and 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Epworth Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mrs. Salin's name to the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society, 511 Rd 15, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, or the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

All arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.
