Francis J. Hudson, retired truck driver

Mr. Francis J. Hudson, 91, of Laurel, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Genesis Health Care in Seaford.

Francis was born in Millsboro, April 20, 1925, to the late Ollie and Amelia Lowe Hudson. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded by his wife of 67years, Virginia Hudson, who passed in July 2015; as well as two brothers, Alton Hudson and Vernon Hudson; and two sisters, Virginia Adams and Josephine Morio.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II in the Atlantic Theater, LST Crew. Francis was a truck driver for Penco, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed horseshoes, dirt track racing, camping, dancing, and playing tricks and teasing. He was devoted to his family and a very friendly person who would do anything for you.

Francis is survived by six children: Lorraine Neal (Tom) of Hartly, Mary Young (Bob) of Laurel, Joe Hudson of Laurel, Penny West (Tim) of Laurel, Jane Ortiz (Eduardo) of Georgetown, and Dean Hudson (Karen) of Millsboro; 11 grandchildren, 12 great -randchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by special in-laws, brother-in-law Jim Adams, sister-in-law Madeline Hudson, brother- in-law and "Good Buddy" Albert Baker and wife Ilene; as well as extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, March 18, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon for visitation and viewing. Burial will follow at Carey's Cemetery in Millsboro.
