Frank ‘Lefty’ E. Grabowski, well known pool player

Frank "Lefty" E. Grabowski, 73, of Millsboro, formerly of Quakertown, Pa., passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at his home.

"Lefty" was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., May 15, 1943, son of the late Stanley Edward Grabowski and Marie Madeline (Mostowa) Grabowski. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965-67. Mr. Grabowski was employed as a powerhouse operator for Rohm & Haas Company in Spring House, Pa., retiring in 2002 after more than 35 years of service.

"Lefty" was a well-known pool player and ran the Riverside Bar & Grill Pool Tournaments in Oak Orchard. He enjoyed thrift store shopping and enjoyed taking his two dogs for a walk on the beach.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Michele A. (Kowalski) Grabowski; a son, Eric Grabowski of Millsboro; a daughter, Susan Ciaccia and her husband Rocco of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Jarod and Brianna. He is also survived by a sister, Jean Wagner of Georgetown; a brother, Stan Grabowski of Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved canine friends, Jessie and Mimi.

A celebration of Lefty's life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 24, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Mr. Grabowski's name to a veterans charity of your choosing.
