Frank M. Nelte Jr., truck driver, mason

Frank M. Nelte Jr., of Georgetown,passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

 He was born in Milford Feb. 8, 1928, son of the late Frank M. Nelte, Sr., and Elsie (Cain) Nelte. Over the years he was an over-the-road truck driver and union mason. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He was a member of American Legion Post 3 in Milford for over 37 years, as well as the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540.

 In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Linda T. Nelte.

 He is survived by his sister, Carolyn (Richard) Sames; two sons, H. Steve (Debbie) Steele and Paul D. (Christie) Smith Sr.; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Jonathan) Cope, Jennifer L. Consuegra, Paul D. Smith Jr., and Kevin T. Smith; four great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Caden, Chance and Sean; and many other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

 A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, with visitation after 1 p.m. Burial will be held privately.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Frank’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
