Frederick Edward Poole, great man of God

Mr. Frederick Edward Poole, 77, of Frankford, made peace and accepted his way to glory Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016. He was born Sept. 11, 1939, in Elizabeth City, N.C.m to the late Iris Freshwater and George Reid.

Frederick was a graduate of William C. Jason High School in 1957, and was soon wed to the late Marie Ellen Bethards in November of that same year.

Frederick's spirit will be carefully guarded and carried on through his three children, Frederick Poole Jr. (Toni) of Buffalo, N.Y., Rodney Poole (Joan) of Raleigh, N.C. and daughter, Tonya Poole of Frankford; one sister Mary Jasper of Philadelphia, Pa.; three grandchildren, Frederick Poole III, Ashley Poole and Rodney Poole Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A husband, father, brother and a great man of God, he enjoyed studying God's word, playing tennis, bowling, minor home repairs and his favorite pasttime of watching sports of all nature.

Brother Poole will also be remembered for his rich deep base singing voice and "his signature style and cool demeanor."

He was preceded in death by four brothers-in-law, Gary Bethards, Robert Sturgis, Rudolph Jasper and Sylvester Brittingham; and one sister-in-law, Anita Brittingham.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Dec. 10, at Antioch A.M.E. Church in Frankford. Burial will be private.
