Friends donate $15,000 to Rehoboth Beach Public Library

October 24, 2016

The Rehoboth Beach Public Library has received a donation of $15,000 from the Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Library. The check was presented to library Director Alison Miller at the Friends’ annual meeting Oct. 11. In thanking the group, Miller said that the funds raised by the Friends have made it possible to greatly expand the library’s collection of e-books, large-print books and bestsellers, as well as supporting a wide range of programs at the library.

Priscilla Smith, president of the organization, said that the Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Library couldn’t have raised the funds without the ongoing support of the community. “This year, we’ve held our first annual 5K, the Rehoboth Run-for-the-Books and also our most successful cocktail party ever. These fundraisers depend on the goodwill and support of local restaurants, businesses and the wonderful people who come out to attend our events,” she said.

The Friends of the Rehoboth Public Library welcome new members and volunteers. Membership brochures and a quarterly newsletter are available at the library.
