Friends of Sussex CASA hold princess tea fundraiser

March 14, 2018

The Friends of Sussex CASA recently held a princess tea fundraiser at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth to support children in foster care. Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers are appointed to represent the best interests of children involved in dependency and neglect proceedings in Family Court.

These children often have unmet needs. The Friends group is able to provide financial support to allow these children to enjoy a more typical childhood. FOSC has provided funds for musical instruments, sports camps and equipment, educational technology, uniforms and other necessary items.

The Friends of CASA extends thanks to Ann Southard, who provided face-painting services; Ta-Da Dance Academy in Milford which provided 15 teenage princesses to dance and pose for photos with the attendees; and Sandy Soucek of Capturing Your Bliss Photography, who took pictures. Several child advocate volunteers made snacks and came to supervise.

For more information on volunteering as a child advocate, contact Lauren Brueckner at 302-245-1895 or lauren.brueckner@state.de.us.
