Galleries at 20 Baltimore Ave. ready for holiday season

December 3, 2016

The Galleries at 20 Baltimore Ave. are gearing up for a great holiday season. Unfortunately, a false rumor started that the galleries are closing. Anyone hearing such a rumor should not believe it! The Galleries at 20 Baltimore Ave. are open 12 to 5 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 12 to 3 p.m., Sunday through the holidays. At other times, if the sign says open, they are open.

The Amandeline Gallery began the festive seasons with its 10th anniversary celebration, which continues into December. The Amandeline Gallery offers a variety of gift items such as art tiles, aprons by Tea and Crumpets, Anatoly Turov ceramics, and fine art original paintings and prints by national and international artists such as Anne Packard, Sergey Cherep and Jack Wiberg. Of particular interest for gifts are Wiberg's miniature paintings and hand-painted Christmas tree balls, of which he does a dozen each year. Wiberg also accepts commissions for paintings of special subjects.

Sherry Biele offers her beautiful hand-painted and decorated shoe casts and her special candlesticks. Her hand-painted furniture continues to be a center of interest.

The Happy Rock Pottery features functional and non-functional ware created by Susan Gladstone.

The artists of Studio 3 are a group of fine local artists who offer a variety of styles, mediums and subjects to interest many tastes. These artists include Viers Mace, one of Delaware’s best watercolorists; Dolores Andrew, who works in watercolor and pastel; and Rose Doster, who works in watercolor and oils. All are well known in the Cape area for their contributions to the arts. Joyce Blakeslee, LaVerne McIntyre and Melissa McLean are three artists whose work is becoming more desired by collectors, as their skills and reputations grow. Two new artists have recently joined the studio group - Richard Thibodeau's work is contemporary realistic and has received a number of awards, and Leslie Hellstern emphasizes the human form in painting and wall art.
