Gene Lamar Crim, NSA retiree

Gene Lamar Crim, 90, of Lewes, passed away Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was born Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1926, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Gilbert and Katherine (Frebert) Crim.

Mr. Crim earned a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and a master's degree from Strayer University. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. Following his military service, he forged a lifelong career working for the National Security Agency. Mr. Crim was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing at every opportunity. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Crim was preceded in death by his sisters: Betty Fleming and Joan Martin. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy (Underwood) Crim; his children: Allen, Lisa and Bill; his grandchildren: Jordan, Sean, Matthew, Jennifer, Russell and Allison; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 West 4th St., Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at 1 p.m., at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
