George W. Dick, retired state trooper

George W. Dick, 85, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully Monday, June 11, 2018, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.

George was born in Lewes to the late George H. and Teresa (West) Dick. He was a lifetime member of the Association of Retired State Police, and a graduate of Rehoboth High School. After spending four years in the U.S. Navy, George joined the Delaware State Police in 1957, and retired as a captain in 1977. While with the Delaware State Police he worked at Troop 2, Troop 3, and was the commander of Troop 4, when he retired.

George enjoyed carving ducks and birds as well as raising quail and chukars. He also enjoyed working in his yard with his wife.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary W. Dick; and his brother, John W. Dick.

He is survived by his wife Connie L. Dick; children Linda Lee Dick, Patricia D. Moore and her husband Kenny W. Moore, William R. Dick, and Jacqueline D. Lynch and her husband Lance F. Lynch Sr.; and brother, Robert W. Dick; and grandchildren, Brandon Robert Moore, Christopher R. West and Samantha Marie West Broadhurst.

Funeral and burial services will be private.
