Georgetown man sought in vehicle crash

March 13, 2018

A Georgetown man is wanted after police say he crashed a car near Millsboro on Dec. 10, and then fled the scene leaving an injured passenger.

Keith R. Jones, 23, was driving on Oak Orchard Road at 4:24 a.m. when he crashed into a tree near Nelsa Lane, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.

When police arrived, Jaffe said, Jones had fled leaving a 22-year-old passenger trapped inside the car. Emergency responders extracted the man, and they transported him to Beebe Healthcare where he was admitted with serious injuries, she said.

Police found Jones about 30 minutes after the crash on Basin Road. He was also sent to Beebe Healthcare with injuries, Jaffe said, but police have not been able to find him after he was released from the hospital.

Anyone with information on Jones’ whereabouts is asked to contact Cpl. N. Klahr at 302-752-3878, Delaware crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.
