Gladys LaCourt Foskey, Indian River retiree

Gladys LaCourt Foskey, 87, of Selbyville passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Renaissance Healthcare, Millsboro. She was born Nov. 15, 1930, to John and Sarah Gillman, and grew up in Pine Hill, N.J., with her brothers and sister, John, Sallie, Gerald and Raymond.

She retired from the Indian River School District after 25 years of service as a paraprofessional. While living in Selbyville, she was active in the PTA, women's club, Girl Scouts, and Democratic Party. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, painting and ceramics. Her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her heart was full of joy whenever they were in her presence whether it be a trip to Disney World, playing games, spending the night, Halloween trick or treats, or Christmas magic.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Bunting and husband J. Wayne of Georgetown, and Nancy Griggs and husband Ted of Canyon Lake, Texas; and a son, Vincent LaCourt and wife Susan of Kapaa, Hawaii. She has six grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Sky, Greylan, Vinni and Jerry; and five great-grandchildren, Dot, Julia, Kayla, Tessa and Christopher.

She was preceded in death by husbands Vincent LaCourt (1993) and Edgar Foskey (2008).

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 23, at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville where friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. Father Ralph Castelow will be officiating. Burial will be at Roxana Cemetery.
