September 20, 2017

Glenn Matthew Short, 42, of Milton, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at his home in Allentown, Pa.

Glenn was born in Milford Memorial Hospital to George M. and Janet (Henderlong) Short.

He was a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School class of 1994, where he was a member of the wrestling team. He also attended Del Tech. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1997-2001 aboard the USS Harry S. Truman CVN 75. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Machinist Mate 3rd Class. Serving on the Truman at the time of commission, he received the honor of plank owner.

He was currently employed with Air Liquide in Pennsylvania as a maintenance technician.

Glenn had a love for classic cars, deep-sea and surf fishing, and spending time with his friends and family. He always loved an adventure, whether snowboarding, BMX or racing 4-wheelers. Glenn was loved by many for his hilarious wit, playful nature, practical jokes, and his willingness to help others in need.

He is survived by his daughter, Victoria D. Short; a grandchild due in February; his parents, George and Janet Short; a sister, Kelly A. Pepper and husband Tom; one nephew, Thomas Brandon Pepper; several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly; his godfather, Jim Jefferson; Glenn's companion, Joanne Santiago; and his fur baby, Jenny.

Services and burial were held privately.

Those who truly knew Glenn knew of his life struggles. In lieu of flowers, Glenn's family suggests contributions in his name to Delmarva Teen Challenge, ATTN: Director of Administration, PO Box 1271, Seaford, DE 19973 in hopes to help and support other men and women who are struggling with addiction.
