Grace A. Dolan Vaughan Rork, retired director

Grace A. Dolan Vaughan Rork, 89, of Lewes, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Cadbury Senior Lifestyles, Lewes. She was born Wednesday, Aug. 24, 1927, in New York City, N.Y., daughter of the late Patrick and Agnes (O'Shaughnessy) Dolan.

Mrs. Rork was born and raised in Bronx, N.Y., where she graduated from both St. Augustine School in 1941 and Morris High School in 1945. She was a past president of Bronx County Junior American Legion Auxiliary, and treasurer of the Treford L.L. (Bronx). During World War II, Mrs. Rork worked for AT&T. She then went on to work for Metropolitan Insurance Company and the City of New York Department of Social Services, retiring as director of East End Center in 1982. Recently, Mrs. Rork was a member of St. Jude's Adoration Society. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rork was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Vaughan in 1982; her second husband, Lt. Col. James R. Rork, (USAF Retired), in 2006; her brother Joseph P. Dolan; her sister-in-law Mary Dolan; her nephew and his wife Robert E. and Bernadette Dolan; and her close friends Georgiana Harley and Ann DelNegro. She is survived by her sons: Thomas Vaughan and his wife Jessica of Stony Point, N.Y., and William Vaughan and his wife Mary Margaret of The Colony, Texas; her daughter Linda Imperia and her husband Lou of Lewes and Naples, Fla.; her stepdaughters: Diane Wiebaldt and her husband Douglas of Suffolk, Va., Sharon Rork of Hackensack, N.J., and Jeannette Rork of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her grandchildren: Traci and Robert Stuart, Jonathan Vaughan, Matthew Vaughan, Elvis and Michele Grgurovic, Jennifer and Marcus Jarl, Michael Imperia, Melanie and Brady Wassom, Brian Litchfield and Brandon Litchfield; her great-grandchildren: Meghan Stuart, Sara Grgurovic, Mariele Wassom, Kristen Stuart, Emma Jarl, Lea Wassom, Allison Stuart, James Moyick, Triston Imperia, Jonathan Jacob Vaughan, Max Jarl, Tom Grgurovic, and Liam Stuart; her nieces: Kathy Mark, Jeri Milazzo and her husband Jack, Jodi Letterese, and Barbara Liddy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Jan. 20, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. A viewing will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, from 7  until 9 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
