September 19, 2016

Grace Fazio, 81, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at Brandywine Senior Living in Rehoboth Beach. She was born Monday, Feb. 11, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Longadino) Bonafede.

Mrs. Fazio worked for many years in healthcare as a registered nurse. Her kindness and compassion for others carried over into her retirement when she became involved in making quilts for the needy in the community. She was a quilter, wove baskets and was a master gardener, including being a past president of her garden club. She also enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe extensively. More than anything, however, she cherished time spent with her family. Mrs. Fazio was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fazio was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Bonafede and her grandson, Daniel DiLernia.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Fazio, of Lewes; her daughters: Susan DiLernia and her husband Philip of Canton, Mich., and Lucille Acanfora and her husband John of Breinigsville, Pa.; her son, William Fazio, of Estell Manor, N.J.; her granddaughters: Elizabeth Harer and her husband Don, and Emily Acanfora; her grandson, David DiLernia and his wife Nicole; her great-granddaughter, Danielle DiLernia; her great-grandson, Dominic DiLernia; and her sister, Agatha Dowling.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 3 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
