Guy Daryl Reckeweg, DART bus driver

Guy Daryl Reckeweg, 67, of Millsboro, formerly of Ridley Park, Pa., passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at his home in Millsboro. He was born July 23, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late George and Marie (Cavanna) Reckeweg.

He was a 1969 graduate of Interboro High School. Guy enjoyed boating and crabbing, working on his home and spending time with his three grandchildren. He loved telling jokes, performing magic tricks and enjoyed dinner out with friends. Guy knew how to lighten up a room and made friends everywhere he went. He brought love and laughter into everything and everyone he was associated with.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Guy previously worked for the Franklin Mint, Airborne Express (DHL) and most recently as a beloved bus driver for DART Mass Transit in Rehoboth. In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his brother Mark.

Survivors include his daughter; Katrina (Charles) Havens; his son Bryan Reckeweg; and his grandchildren, Tatiana, Nadia and Gavin; also long time companion Marlene Sura; and former husband of Elizabeth (McCammon) Reckeweg.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Saturday, Aug. 19, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, Pa. A Memorial service will immediately follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
