Hannah Lowe receives 2017 Christopher Smail Memorial Scholarship

In a ceremony held in the Delaware Room of the Lewes Public Library June 27, Hannah Lowe received the 2017 Christopher Smail Memorial Scholarship.
The $1,000 scholarship recognizes exemplary service to the library by student volunteers. Lowe is a 2017 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School. The scholarship will help pay for college expenses at the College of William & Mary, where she plans to study history.
Karen Smail and Director Emeritus Beckie Healey presented the scholarship. Karen Smail is the mother of Christopher Smail, a 2010 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and a previous recipient of the scholarship. The scholarship was renamed in his honor after he died in an automobile crash in November 2011.
