Harriet Younus, shared her faith

Harriet Younus, 88, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 20, 2018, due to complications following surgery.

Harriet was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Max and Della Tarnofsky. She graduated from Jefferson High School, and later in life fulfilled her dream when she obtained her associate’s degree. She went on to pursue her passion for working with children in the area of education.

Harriet was passionate about her relationship with the Lord, reading her Bible, and sharing her faith with others. At the time of her passing, she was attending Calvary Church in Dover. She often commented on being blessed by the church and the people there.

Harriet is survived by her children, Michael and Eileen; grandchildren, Taryn, Keith, Cayla and Jessy; sisters, Renee and Shelly; brother, Mel; and former husband, John.

Harriet will be deeply missed by family and friends. Her love of others and life is a mark that will never be forgotten. Those who knew her rejoice, as she now resides in her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior.

Private funeral services were held for family members Wednesday, April 25, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, Milton. Entombment followed Thursday, April 26, at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.
