Harvard Business Services supports Mariner student’s travel to conference

April 20, 2018

In March, a group of students from Mariner Middle School competed in the statewide Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference. While there, Dylan Roberts earned an invitation to attend the national conference being held in Dallas in May.

While a portion of the costs was covered by the school, Roberts was challenged with raising $1,660 to help cover his hotel fees and airfare. Using a GoFundMe account and with the support of the local community, his family, faculty and staff, he was able to raise $1,135.

When Michael Bell of Harvard Business Services Inc. heard about Roberts’ challenge to raise money, he agreed to sponsor the remaining costs for his trip to nationals.

Cape Henlopen School District staff members extend thanks to Harvard Business Services and the community members who helped Roberts achieve his goal of attending nationals, and they wish Roberts the best of luck at the competition.
