Hedwig Heddleson, excellent chef

Hedwig Heddleson, 91, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully Monday, July 17, 2017, at her daughter's residence in Lewes. She was born Thursday, July 1, 1926, in Ilbenstadt, Germany to the late Landwirt Franz Adam and Maria Theopista (Kaufmann) Haumann.

Mrs. Heddleson had proudly served in the German Air Force, and in 1948 moved to the United States. She had settled in Aston, Pa., and later moved to Delaware which became her home for the next 40 years. Mrs. Heddleson loved to cook for her family and was considered an excellent chef by all who were fortunate to be at her table. She loved all of her family dearly, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heddleson was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Serluco; second husband, William Heddleson; and her son, Michael Serluco.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Breeding of Lewes; five grandchildren: Sandra Smith of Laurel, Michael Hager of Niceville, Fla., Christopher Breeding of Orlando, Fla., Michael Serluco and Vinnie Serluco, both of Aston; three great-grandchildren: Tyler Smith of Laurel, Tyler Conley of Niceville, and Cody Hager of Niceville.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be held at a later date at Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Heddleson's memory to American Cancer Society, PO Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803.
