Helen G. Steele, retired floor manager

Mrs. Helen G. Steele, 92, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Harrison House in Georgetown.

Mrs. Steele was born in Laurel, Feb. 26, 1925, to the late Emory and Sally Dorman Foskey. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded by her husband Thomas E. Steele Jr. in 1997; a daughter, Phyllis Hitchens in 2015; and a brother, Paul Foskey.

Helen retired as a floor manager for Arrow Safety Device where she worked for 55 years.
She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Georgetown. She was very involved in all activities, and held many offices over the years. Helen loved to talk on the phone and keep up with her friends. She was a mother to many who had lost their mothers. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by a son, Thomas E. Steele III of Rehoboth Beach; a son-in-law, Gerald Hitchens of Georgetown; a sister, Dot Niblett of Laurel; two grandchildren, Sherry Swift and her husband Norman, and Kelly DeLeon and her husband Brian, both of Georgetown. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. for visitation. Burial will follow at St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery, c/o Teresa Moore-Adams, 22910 Park Ave., Georgetown, DE 19947.
