Helen Jo McCracken, retired manager
Mrs. Helen Jo McCracken, 88, of Millsboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
Mrs. McCracken was born in Thomas, W.Va., Dec. 4, 1929, to the late J. Edgar and Helen Shrader Pase. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Donald T. McCracken in 1984 and three siblings, Yvonne, Nolan and Betty.
She retired from Diamond State Telephone which later became Verizon as an assistant manager. Helen was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro, Telephone Pioneers, AARP Chapter and the graduating class of Georgetown High School 1947.
She enjoyed her Friday night dinners out followed by card games with her friends.
Helen is survived by her brother Roy Pase and his wife Dixie of Magalia, Calif.: two nieces, Shirley Willey and Judy Murphy; and three nephews, Nolan Pase Jr., Roy Pase Jr. and Dean Pase. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in the Millsboro Cemetery. Pastor Ed Kuhling will officiate.
