Helen Ruth (Hays) Ritter, had varied career
Helen Ruth (Hays) Ritter, 83, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes.
She was born May 15, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and graduated from Rehoboth High School in 1952. She attended Bliss College in Columbus, Ohio, and later received a certification in real estate from Goldey Beacom in 1959. In 1954, she married Earl F. Ritter of Lewes and had three children.
Over the years she was employed with Harry M. Grieves Real Estate, Mister Donut, Perdue, The Cranberry Scoop, and for several years worked as a manager at the Estée Lauder Outlet in Rehoboth Beach until her retirement in 2012. Helen was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 16 in Lewes, and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rehoboth Beach.
She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Millman and husband Billy of Milford, and Julie Ritter of Odenton, Md.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Hays; her husband, Earl; and son John.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, Thursday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m.
