Henlopen Storm defeats Brotherly Love 10-4 at Beach Blast

Whole-team effort gets it done

The Henlopen Storm Class of 2024 showed no sisterly love as they surged past the Brotherly Love team from Philadelphia 10-4 at the 2017 Beach Blast Lacrosse Tournament June 23.

Natalie Pfaff, Lulu Rishko and Ashling Marshall started off the Storm possessions with numerous wins at the draw position. Rishko, Marshall and Ella Ruppert, also known as the three amigas, dominated from their midfield positions in the game. Michael Anne Cryne, Lainey Shockro, Samantha Ghabra, Katherine Wyshock and Keara Parsons played tough defense in the Storm victory.

Quick cuts and pinpoint passing by Olivia Burkentine, Callie Short, Landon Diehl and Ashton Torbert made the attack lethal going to the Brotherly Love goal. Addison Basile earned kudos for her ground ball play.

Henlopen Storm goalie Anna Lopez made seven saves in the win over Brotherly Love, while only giving up four goals.

“Everyone played well,” said assistant coach Kathy Marshall. “It was a total team effort.”
