Hopefully the Eagles are on road to Super Bowl

January 12, 2018

On Saturday afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles will play the Atlanta Falcons to begin the sprint toward Minneapolis and Super Bowl 52. Since there are no more college football games to compete with, the NFL has some of the playoff games on Saturday.

I am not a fan of this arrangement. I'm set in my ways and like pro football games to be played on Sunday.

In order for the Eagles to advance to the NFC championship game, their offense has to wake up, and put some serious points on the board. Why, you ask? Because Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman and the rest of the Falcon offense are very capable of scoring over 30 points. They will also be looking for revenge from last year because they should have won the 2017 Super Bowl. The Eagles have a lot to step up to in order to pull off this last chance for the Super Bowl.

This year's College Football National Championship was a great game like last year's was. Alabama completed a second half comeback from 13 points down to win yet another National Championship. The most impressive part of this was the fact that they did it with their backup freshman quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, from Hawai'i.

The final score was 26-23 in overtime. If Georgia can take something positive from this loss, it is that they will be a contender for years to come. Alabama's roster on defense is full of NFL-ready players. I bet that at least seven of their defensive players will get drafted in the next two years.
