Hospitality training certification class to start Jan. 3

The Sussex Tech Adult and Extended Learning Division will offer hospitality worker training and instruction through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute. The four-night course is set from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Jan. 3. Cost is $275, which includes all classroom materials as well as one proctored test examination.

The institute's Certified Guest Service Professional designation provides recognition for individuals who know how to achieve and express exceptional service by engaging with their guests and creating memorable experiences. Recognized worldwide, the CGSP designation is the highest acknowledgment of award-winning guest service for employees in the lodging industry.

This training is designed both for those already working in the hospitality industry as well as for those who may be interested in joining this fast-growing area. This program provides successful students with a recognized credential that sets them apart from other employees in the hospitality industry. Successful completion of the course demonstrates the candidate's knowledge and understanding of critical guest services areas. Candidates who complete the program and pass the certification exam will receive a certificate from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute and a certificate of completion from Sussex Tech.
