March 18, 2017

The Friends of Mimi are happy to invite the public to the Hugs for Mimi Fundraiser set 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 26, at The Forgotten Mile Ale House at 20859 Coastal Hwy., Rehoboth Beach. Funds will go to Carol "Mimi" LeVasseur, a Lewes local, for expenses stemming from a recent car accident. The event will feature a special edition of the original Sydney's Music Revival by her musical friends. There will be a silent auction and lunch buffet along with plenty of space to celebrate Mimi's continuing recovery.

The musical portion of Hugs for Mimi will be hosted by area favorites Big Hat, No Cattle. The jam will feature many local and regional musicians and performers, who will be donating their time and talent. Those slated to perform along with the host band include Bettenroo, Matthew Kenworthy, Holly Lane and John Flynn, Elwood Bishop and Some of The Bysquyts, The Girlfriends, and Sherman Ward and Peggy Raley-Ward along with some of the Funsters... and the jam list continues to grow.

The Friends of Mimi are still seeking silent auction items for the fundraiser, including artwork, gift certificates from restaurants and shops, donations of services like car detailing, house cleaning, golf or pickleball lessons, or tickets to an event. To donate, email geriscamera@aol.com.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door and include live music and food, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and a live auction. A cash bar with happy hour prices will also be offered. Tickets are available for purchase and pickup during the day at the offices of Berkshire Hathaway Gallo Realty at 37230 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach and 16712 Kings Highway in Lewes.

To order a ticket or send a donation by mail, send a check payable to “Hugs for Mimi” to Fundraiser, 24 Rusty Anchor Drive, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, and the ticket(s) will be held at Will Call. If the event is not sold out, tickets will be available at the door the day of the event. For more information, find the Hugs for Mimi event on Facebook.
