Humorous advice author at Cape Henlopen Senior Center April 26

April 18, 2018

Author Lyn Widmyer will be speaking at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 26, at Cape Henlopen Senior Center in Rehoboth Beach. Her book “Chasing Pills: I Must Be Old, I Have a Pill Dispenser” offers humorous advice on topics like living with a hard-of-hearing spouse, coping with unwanted body noises and understanding confusing medical bills.

Widmyer approaches growing older with humor and a zest for life. “I plan to thoroughly enjoy my time as a senior citizen. Dylan Thomas advised us to rage, rage against the dying of the light, but I plan to laugh my way into eternity,” said Widmyer.

In “Chasing Pills,” Widmyer includes tips on how she plans to make the most of her remaining 20 or so years. Studies show seniors who are positive live an average of 7.5 years longer than those who aren’t. “I plan to stay positive, so I can drive my adult children crazy for a very long time,” she said.

Cape Henlopen Senior Center is at 11 Christian St., Rehoboth Beach. For more information, go to www.lynwidmyer.net and www.capehenlopenseniorcenter.org.
