Impermanence exhibit to open at Delaware Art Museum May 19

Lewes artist Barbara Warden is exhibit curator
May 9, 2018

A drawing exhibit will open Saturday, May 19, at Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington, and Lewes artist Barbara Warden was invited to be its guest curator.

In all, 11 nationally recognized artists from the mid-Atlantic region were chosen to present drawings interpreting the central tenet of Buddhist philosophy - the idea of impermanence. The concept suggests the evanescence of imperfect and incomplete life experiences. The only permanence is change.

Each artist has a story to tell, and they touch on subjects as diverse as lost innocence, fleeting moments, spatial ambiguity, loss of control, vulnerability and the drawing process itself. The artists offer dynamic and expressive insights into the universal experience of life's fugitive nature.
