Interfaith Series ‘One God, One Love’ continues July 27 at All Saints'

July 23, 2016

The Episcopal Parish of All Saints’ Church and St. George’s Chapel is hosting an interfaith summer series with the goal of broadening the local community’s interfaith and multicultural perspectives, and to explore the effects spiritual practices have on well-being.

The series continues Wednesday, July 27, at All Saints’ Parish Hall at 18 Olive Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. A light supper will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation and discussion until 8 p.m. There is no charge for the supper or series.

This week’s speaker is Usman Sandhu, a Dover-area community leader and current president of the Islamic Society of Central Delaware. Sandhu has been a practicing Muslim his entire life. He emigrated to the United States of America from Pakistan in 1996 when he was a teenager, and he has worked to become a successful builder and generous businessman. In 2013, Sandhu was appointed by Gov. Jack Markell to serve on the interfaith Delaware Council of Faith-based Partnerships, where he and Father Max Wolf became colleagues and dear friends.

“Usman is an articulate, insightful presenter,” said Wolf, “who graciously shares his family’s experience of being faithful Muslims and loyal, committed Americans.”
