Intrapartum Mead and Metal release set June 22

June 22, 2018

Milton-based Brimming Horn Meadery's Mead and Metal series will return with the release of Intrapartum Friday, June 22.

This time, co-owners Jon Talkington and JR Walker teamed with Rosetta, one of post-metal's original forward-thinking pioneers.

Rosetta bassist David Grossman said, "We are very excited about our collaboration with Brimming horn. Their focus on taking old world recipes and putting a new spin on it drew us to them immediately. Their commitment to working with more experimental-style musicians made this a natural fit for us. Please enjoy this Mead for Astronauts."

Guitarist Matt Weed said, "We love being able to work with creators in other spheres, like Brimming Horn, who are doing things that resist easy categorization."

Mead maker Talkington said, "I was very happy to hear that Rosetta wanted us to make a mead flavored with flowers since I love making metheglins (mead flavored with herbs or spices). I chose orange blossom honey for this mead since it has a distinct floral character, citrus notes and I combined dried rose petals and lavender. Most of the collaboration meads we have done have been on the darker side. Intrapartum is light blush in color, delicately sweet, floral and has hints of citrus. A truly amazing mead!"

Intrapartum will be available in limited-release June 22 at the mead hall in Milton and online for $24.99 in 500ml bottles.
