Irene Norma Waples Morris, cook, housekeeper

Irene Norma Waples Morris, 75, of Rehoboth Beach, passed from time into eternity Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., after a brief illness. Irene was born Feb. 5, 1942, to the late Annie Mae Short and Hurley R. Waples Sr. in Rehoboth.

Irene retired in 2004 after 20 years of dedicated and faithful service to the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware as a cook and housekeeper. Irene was a member of the Millsboro 1st Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by four sons: Garrison T. Duncan of Georgetown, Allen and Tammy Duncan of Mardela Springs, Md., Marvin Duncan of Berlin, Md., and Pastor Howard and 1st Lady Glendoria Duncan of Wilmington; three daughters: Vivian Missy and Anthony Venable of Chester, Pa., Sonja and Fred Snowden of Houston, and Suzanne Mondesir of Front Royal, Va.; 33 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Hurley R. and Estelle Waples Jr.; three sisters, Ada and Martin Burton, Emma and Thomas Harmon, and Martha and William White; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Waples.

Services will be held Sunday, Feb. 4, at noon at Millsboro 1st Seventh Day Adventist Church, 30007 Cordrey Road, Millsboro. Friends may call at the church at 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
