Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant will open its 14th location, in Rehoboth Beach, next year.

The popular New Castle County brewpub, started by Kevin Finn, Mark Edelson and Kevin Davies in Newark in 1996, will open at Coastal Station, a shopping center that will also have a Royal Farms, a retail store and 262 parking spaces at the corner of Route 1 and Holland Glade Road at the former site of Tomato Sunshine.

“As we continue to grow, we also wanted to deepen our commitment to our Delaware roots,” says President and co-founder Kevin Finn. “Our guests have long asked for us to open a location at the beach, and we are excited to join the thriving restaurant and brewing community in Rehoboth.”

Iron Hill joins a packed Cape Region brewing scene, which includes Dogfish Head, Crooked Hammock, Revelation Craft Brewing, Big Oyster Brewery, 16 Mile, Dewey Beer Co. and Mispillion River Brewing. The brewery is named after a Revolutionary War landmark in Newark where Gen. George Washington’s troops fought the British.

“We are excited to have one of the best restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic region join Coastal Station,” developer Todd Bariglio said. “Coastal Station will be Delaware’s premier real estate development, and we couldn’t have asked for a better tenant than Iron Hill.”

Construction on Coastal Station is expected to start in June.

The menu is beer-inspired, with such items as Gold Medal Stout dessert, combining chocolate ice cream with Iron Hill’s Russian imperial stout.

“We are very proud of our award-winning beers, but it is pairing these fine products with the creativity of our chefs that keeps guests coming back. Whether it is using spent grain or malted barley spice in our from-scratch recipes, Iron Hill is committed to bringing out the best in beer and food,” Finn said.
