J-Term showcase and open house set at Delmarva Christian Jan. 12

January 10, 2018

Delmarva Christian High School invites the public to attend a special J-Term Showcase and Open House from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12. Display booths will be set up in the Arts and Athletic Center on the high school campus, and students will share their J-Term experiences as they explored God's call on their lives through service, mission, travel and hands-on academic courses.

These experiences include mission trips, Habitat for Humanity construction projects, business internships, enrichment activities in the arts, scientific explorations, spirit-filled worship conferences, physical fitness and service-oriented projects.

An assembly from 6 to 7 p.m will showcase personal testimonies, videos and dance performances from students who will tell how God was revealed to them over the past two weeks.

From 7 to 8 p.m., an open house will be held for families interested in learning more about the high school and its Christ-centered curriculum. The open house will begin in the Arts and Athletic Center Student Union. Teachers, staff members, and coaches will be available to answer questions followed by a school tour.

J-Term is a critical component of the education of students at Delmarva Christian High School. J-Term allows students to explore God's calling in their lives through service, mission, travel and hands-on academic courses. DCHS students have the unique opportunity to jettison the traditional academic setting and develop a greater understanding of their God-given passions.

The J-Term experience challenges students to grow spiritually, academically and physically. New friendships are formed, and relationships with teachers are strengthened as students and staff work together in a variety of settings, on campus and around the world.

Finally, J-Term serves as a catalyst, energizing students and staff for the second half of the school year. J-Term is key to accomplishing the mission of school – to proclaim the gospel by preparing students spiritually, academically and physically to know and do God's will in their lives.
