Jack Wiberg art exhibit to open Oct. 21

Artist to retire to home studio at end of November
October 18, 2017

Ships Named Delaware, an exhibit of Jack Wiberg’s most recent oil paintings, will open Saturday, Oct. 21, in the WibergArt Gallery, 20 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

In this series, Wiberg, one of Delaware’s leading marine artists, depicts historic maritime vessels that were named for the First State. The earliest ship was a 24-gun frigate built in 1776 and subsequently captured by the British. The most recent is the Navy’s newest Virginia class fast-attack submarine, the USS Delaware SSN-791, which will be launched in 2018.

This the first time these original oil paintings are being offered to the public. Quality giclée prints of the originals are available in very limited numbers.

Through the end of November, the gallery will be offering special pricing on a large selection of Wiberg’s archived original paintings that have not recently been seen. After that, Wiberg will be retiring to work from his home studio.
