James G. Hull, Verizon retiree

March 13, 2018

James G. Hull, 76, of Milton, passed from this Earth Sunday, March 11, 2018, at his home. He was born Sept. 21, 1941, at Crozier Hospital in Upland, Pa.

His mother Ann and father Ralph, along with his stepmother Joann, were loved and cherished by Jim prior to their passing.

The highlight of his life was being married to Carol Hull from Claymont, who passed away in 1996, and whom he described as the most wonderful woman he could have ever met. Jim and Carol were married for 31 years.

In 1964, when Jim was 23 years of age, he went to work at the Phoenix Steel Corporation in Claymont as a crane operator for the next 23 years. In 1987, when Phoenix Steel closed, Jim and Carol decided to relocate downstate in Milton. Prior to his wife's passing, they enjoyed spending quality time with each other on Cape Henlopen beach surf fishing, watching their grandchildren grow up, and living in the custom-made home that was built by their youngest son, Eddie Hull.

In 1988, Jim went to work for Verizon Wireless, and became a phone installation technician.

Jim is survived and will be deeply missed by his oldest daughter, Terri; his two sons, Jimmy and Eddie; his best friend, Allen Laymen; and his closest companion, his dog Rocky.

Services will be private. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton.
